ESP abuse, tasteless subject lines and more headline busy month at SendLabs’ blog

February 25, 2009 · Leave a Comment

All kinds of interesting posts at SendLabs from yours truly and company CEO Brett Houle. Here are a few of the most recent and for the full list, here you go.

- Wednesday, 2/25 – Abuse of an email marketing service provider

“I cannot stand when I get unsolicited marketing emails, especially ones that are wishy-washy or use language that seem like I’ve contacted them before. Take this one I received from the eConsulting Network…”

Fun stuff!

- Wednesday, 2/18 - The most tasteless subject line I’ve ever read

“Well, this subject line certainly got my interest but not in a good way – “Michael Jackson Auctions Naked Children Statues’.”

- Thursday, 2/12 – Push vs. Pull: what’s the better marketing approach? (from Brett)

“In the world of marketing, especially in digital, you desire to get your prospects engaged and involved in your product, brand, web site, blog, etc. You desire to get them to visit your web site or blog (hopefully bookmarking it and return). Getting them there is considered theĀ  “pull” as you need to somehow pull them in and hope they come back. But let’s say you launched a web site, a blog or a new product. Unless they know about it, you need to employ some form of “push” tactic to get them there. In my opinion, email is the perfect vehicle for this process.

As always, let me know if I can be of help to you – josh [at] emailmarketingguy [dot-com].
