Great quick read by DJ Waldow at Bronto (via Marketing Profs) on expired email permission. He got an email from a company that he didn’t recognize and went to mark it as junk until he remembered that he had opted-in to the list…two and-a-half years ago!
Waldow makes some great points on how you should really think about the last time you emailed to your list before you send out to them again. Was it six months? A year? A month? He even includes a chart with different colors which I stared at for an hour…mmmm, charts.
Check out the post here. Great stuff, DJ!

Josh –
Thanks for the plug. More to that story. I ended up exchanging emails with those guys. Did you see the comments on the post? I give them credit for reaching out…
On an unrelated note, it’s always funny to see “Waldow.” You can just call me DJ. Ha ha.

Hey DJ – thanks for dropping by and thanks for acknowledging the blog. I just read the comments…sounds like their hearts were in the right place, but that they needed some guidance. I think they’ve figured it out…education is the key!
And yes, no more Waldow…promise!
